    Wednesday, July 16 and Thursday, July 17, 2008: 7:00pm
    Auditions for Fall Play.     Auditions will take place in Lecture Hall B. The PAC Rats Theatre Company of South Suburban College will hold open auditions for its fall production. Meanwhile Back on the Couch. See the Audition Homepage for more information.

    AUGUST 2008

    Weight Lifter Saturday, August 23: 10am Prejudging, 6pm Night Show
    2008 Classic Bodies Bodybuilding & Figure Championship II,     hosted by the SSC Overall Body Fitness Club. Both participants and spectators are invited to join the fun at this special event. The entry fee is $40 for all contestants, with a $20 charge for each additional category entered. Students entry fee $30, each additional category $15. Awards will take place at the night show for 1st through 5th Place in each division. There will be entertainment, guest posers, refreshments and free giveaways.

    Jazz Bands Concert:     The SSC Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Orchestra perform under the direction of Andy Hoefle. No charge for admission. Donations to music scholarship funds will be accepted.

    Tuesday, October 7, 2008: 7:30pm
    Ensembles Concert,     featuring the SSC Voices, directed by Al Jackson, the Jazz Combo and Jazz Band II, directed by Fred Miller and the Percussion Ensemble, directed by Glenn Ellison. No charge for admission. Donations to music scholarship funds will be accepted.

    Friday, October 10, 2008: 7:30pm
    Symphonic Band Concert     under the direction of Andy Hoefle. No charge for admission. Donations to music scholarship funds will be accepted.

    Choir Ladies Saturday, October 11, 2008: 7:30pm
    Evening Chorale Concert,     directed by Al Jackson. SSC's premiere 70 member choral group performs classical literature. No charge for admission. Donations to music scholarship funds will be accepted.

    Sunday, October 12, 2008: 4:00pm
    Evening Chorale Concert,     directed by Al Jackson. SSC's premiere 70 member choral group performs classical literature. This concert will be held at the 1st Presbyterian Church, 17929 Gottschalk Ave., Homewood, IL. No charge for admission. A free will offering will be taken.

    Princess and the Pea Friday, October 24, 2008: 7:00pm to 10pm
    Saturday, October 25, 2008: 1:00pm to 4pm
    Auditions: Princess and the Pea.     Roles are available for 3 men and 7 women. Director Ellie Shunko is looking for energetic and committed people to round out the ensemble for Michele L. Vacca's classic fairy tale. No prior experience is necessary, but you must be willing and able to take off work or classes to be eligible.     NOVEMBER 2008

    Stand Up Monday-Thursday, November 3 thru 6, 2008: 10:30am to 1:30pm
    Cafe Fest:     Bobbie Saltzman and the SSC Playhouse will host its fifth annual week-long open-mic event in SSC's cafeteria. Join the noise, prodding and fun! Songs, poetry, dramatic readings are just some of what can be seen during the Fest. Runs from 10:30am to 1:30pm each day. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to perform and there is no charge for admission.

    Friday, November 7, 2008: 12:00pm
    Piano Lecture / Recital:     Join us for an informative and entertaining hour sponsored by the SSC Music Department. Victoria Lowczyk, soprano, will perform. No charge for admission.

    Student Recital:     Students of SSC Music Faculty perform a variety of classical pieces. No charge for admission.

    Wednesday, December 3, 2008: 7:30pm
    Ensembles Concert,     featuring the Jazz Combo and Jazz Band II, directed by Fred Miller and the Percussion Ensemble, directed by Glenn Ellison. No charge for admission. Donations to music scholarship funds will be accepted.

    Friday, December 5, 2008: 7:30pm

    Evening Chorale Concert     Al Jackson conducts SSC's leading choral group in sacred music for the holiday season. This concert will be presented at St. Victor's Church, 553 Hirsch Ave., Calumet City, IL. A free will offering will be accepted.

    Tuesday, December 9, 2008: 7:00pm
    Guitar Recital:     The students of SSC guitar faculty, Linda Kelley, perform in a revelry of guitars. Solo and group pieces will be performed, including traditional music for Christmas. No charge for admission.

    Friday, December 12, 2008: 7:30pm
    Holiday Concert:     Join the good cheer as the SSC Voices, PAC Rats Theatre Company, Symphonic Band present their annual Holiday Card to the Community. Hosted by Al Jackson and Andy Hoefle, with special appearances by SSC president George Dammer, faculty members Art and Patrice Burton and more. No charge for admission. Donations to music scholarship funds will be accepted.
