This months' musical selection is dedicated to the most craptacular song ever produced. ;-)
Yeah, I know it's tacky, but it makes me laugh!

1. Winnie The Pooh information was discussed
  • 4,230 people came to see the show
  • The college made $9,985.00 from our ticket sales
  • We made $919.61 (there's that penny again) in concession sales
2. Chuck would like to do a project in October of 1999 as a Halloween show.
  • It is called The Haunting and is an onstage radio show/play. Chuck will pass around a script and let people read it.
  • All can give opinions on the material.
  • Also, we can watch a video of it to better get an idea of what it is about.
3. The big Christmas Concert!!!
  • PAC Rats - Perform Twas the Night Before Christmas??
  • Bruce Aldrich will read Yes, Virginia
  • Cheryl Clinton to read "How Come Christmas"
  • Rats to pass out candy canes
  • Tune up your voices! We are helping with a sing along
  • Rehearsal for said Christmas Concert - Thursday December 3rd from 7 - 9 pm
  • Christmas Concert - Friday December 4th 7:30pm
4. Concessions Clean Up
  • We need to make sure that we are helpful in the clean-up after shows.
  • We sell the mess. We should clean up the mess.
  • It is not right to assume that the custodial crew will do everything - because they won't.
5. Cleaning Day!!!
  • The Prop and Costume shops are disgusting and they need to be cleaned.
  • Saturdays are good because we can be here from early in the FM until at least 5pm.
  • Saturday January 23rd is the first of 2 days. There is a rental in the theatre that night until 10pm so we can stay later and finish up.
  • The second cleanup day will be January 30

Ellie Promised She Would Buy Us Pizzas Or Something!!

6. Spend Spend Spend!!!
  • A second popcorn machine was discussed. It will cost at LEAST $500.
  • Mike is going to check out ideas and possibilities for a refurbished one or for a lease kind of deal. Purchasing one is an awful lot of money for something we use once a year.
  • Cash register $150 - It worked very well during Pooh for concessions. We all agree that we should just buy the thing.
  • Notes about concessions (just thrown in the middle here for no good reason): Keep the food prices at multiples of a quarter so that it is easier to give change. Make one person the money taker (take turns).
  • Vacuum Cleaner??? We need to check into prices on those.
  • We need 2 more carpet sweepers - Joey will donate one. Kim may donate another.
  • The best way to spend money we earned??? Party Party Party!! For actors, actresses, cast & suckers crew. After the second clean up night we will all go out for dinner. Ellie will pay for food, but you have to buy your own booze. (Dang!!)
7. Recruitment Recruitment Recruitment
We need more people in the theatre. This needs to be discussed again at future meetings.
Ways to get more people:
  • Do more stuff to keep people interested and coming back.
  • Readers Theatre
  • Yarn Spinners - Improv Kiddie stuff
  • Real Play - Musical Review? NO NEIL SIMON
  • "Student" Directors
  • Have more Rats direct their own things (i.e. Guerrilla Theatre)
  • Vern and Ellie would like to do a live reading of George Bernard Shaw's Man and Superman
  • Have meeting dates and times consistant and easily identifiable.

  • New Official Meeting Dates
    First Friday Of Every Month
    7:00 PM

    8. Concessions
    • Boxes to help carry pop, popcorn, etc.
    • Drop cloth of some kind for underneath concessions area.
    9. Miscellaneous Ideas / Thoughts / Gripes:
    • Ellie or someone who has access to a computer, will give Joey flyer to advertise any and all stuff.
    • Joey gets it stamped in time for next meeting.
    • During meeting make copies.
    • After meeting we post them before we leave.
    • Heather is in charge of taking notes. When Heather cannot attend, Joey is in charge of notes.
    • Big Gripe: We need more time (days/weeks) for rehearsals (preferably at least two months for each production)
    • We need to get more people to help with set production, after show clean up, etc. Perhaps call all people who auditioned and didn't get a part and force ask them to help.
    Meeting ended at 9:05pm
Minutes taken by Heather and transcribed by Amy

    Next Meeting: December 4, 1998
