PAC Rats Meeting

Meeting Called to disorder at 7:10pm

In attendance: Paul Braun, Raymond Cleveland, Tina Farmer, Angela Martin, Ellie Shunko, Joey Tassin, Charlene Taylor, Barry, Megan and Bethany Zurawicz.

1. Reading of the minutes from last meeting was waived and approved by those in attendance.

2. Old Business
A. March play outing wrap-up: Thanks to all those who went to see The Free Associates Theatre Company's production of Little House Quite Contrary: Laura Ingalls Wilder Unscripted on Sunday, March 3rd at 3pm., including Paul and Laura Braun, Raymond Cleveland, Tina Farmer, and Jackie Gutowski and Friend. The show was a lot of fun (but no Alonzo Wilder in the play). Dinner at Uncle Julio's Hacienda after the show was excellent.

B. Sleepless in Seattle: Congratulations to Jana Giroux for getting married to a young man who works for Microsoft (insert Bill Gates jokes here!) in Seattle and then moving there (wedding was in Las Vegas -- insert wedding/Elvis jokes here!). Those in attendance at the meeting contributed money to Paul Braun as payment for Jana's unused ticket to the March play and as a possible wedding present (Also suggested as a wedding present was one of the batons from Emperor's New Clothes, possibly one that sheds paint on holder's hands)

3. New Business
A. Spring Show: The Spring Show will be Lend Me A Tenor, directed by our new Drama instructor, Bobbie Saltzman. Performance dates are Tuesday, April 23 at 7pm; Wednesday and Thursday, April 24 and 25 at 8pm; Friday and Saturday, April 26 and 27 at 2pm and 8pm; and Sunday, April 28 at 4pm. We desperately need help making and selling concessions, since Clan Zurawicz is working crew for the show. [Help baking for the weekday shows is needed. (Mrs. Braun will bake for the Saturday and Sunday shows.) The PAC Rats will pay for the cake or cookie mixes. Note: No popcorn will be sold at these shows. Min needs a break from making popcorn.] Also needed desperately will be help ushering. Those who usher are asked to wear white dress shirts and black dress pants (Ellie will provide red bow ties). If interested in baking or selling concessions, please contact Ellie at 708-596-2000, ext. 2345 or email at ssctheatre@aol.com.

B. Wanted: Director(s): We are looking for a director or directors to direct a PAC Rats play or a series of one-act plays scheduled for Friday and Saturday, October 25 and 26, Thursday, October 31, and Friday and Saturday, November 1st and 2nd. If interested, please contact Ellie at 708-596-2000, ext. 2345 or email at ssctheatre@aol.com for more information.

C. T-Shirts for Concessions and Memorial Day Parade: We are looking to sell lighter-colored T-shirts specifically designed for concessions helpers and parade marchers. (Black T-shirts are too dark for hot summer days). These t-shirts would be a neutral color (tan, perhaps) with concessions items on the front of concessions t-shirts and with a PAC Rat on front of parade T-shirts with the saying "PAC Rats on Parade." T-shirts would cost $10. For more information, please contact Megan Zurawicz at listpig@earthlink.net. Deadline for T-shirt orders and payment is Wednesday, May 15th.

D. Memorial Day Parade: The PAC Rats will be participating in the South Holland Memorial Day Parade, which takes place on Monday, May 27 at 11am. We will meet at Clan Zurawicz by 9:30am. More information will be available at next PAC Rats meeting.

E. Summer Kiddie Show: Due to remodeling of the theatre and lobby during the summer (new seats and carpet in theatre, a redesigned and rewired lobby), there will be NO summer play this summer. We are planning to use the time to thoroughly clean the theatre (Scene shop, prop room, costume shop, third Rike, etc.) Ellie and others have suggested prizes and/or rewards (read: bribes) for those who help out above and beyond the call of duty (e.g., free PAC Rats T-shirt, free "Get-out-of-having-Ellie-yell-at-you-for-being-late-to-rehearsal" card, free food from concessions for upcoming shows, etc.)

F. Future play/fun outings: We are looking for ideas for future play/recreational outings. The following is a tentative list of future outings from now to the end of summer:

May: Play outing to see Second City's ETC production of Holy War, Batman! or The Yellow Cab of Courage on Friday night, May 17th. Tickets would be $17 each. Please contact Paul Braun at pabpacrat1@aol.com if interested in attending. Deadline for ticket orders is Sunday, April 28th.

Also in May: Raymond Cleveland will be performing as Poole in the Drama Group's production of Jekyll and Hyde, The Musical on Friday and Saturday, May 10 and 11 at 8pm, and Sunday, May 12 at 2pm. All performances will be at Bloom High School Auditorium in Chicago Heights.

June: Great America outing and/or play outing and/or Navy Pier outing or movies at Petrillo Bandshell in Grant Park.

July: Cubs game outing and/or Bristol Renaissance Faire outing and/or play outing and/or Navy Pier outing. Possible dates for Cubs game are Fridays, July 12 or 19, or August 2. Tickets would be $20 each. More info at next PAC Rats meeting.
