PLA 212 ELDER LAW

NOTE:NEW ONLINE COURSE -- ELDER LAW PLA 212

I am developing a NEW ONLINE COURSE to be offered for the first time in the Spring 2010 semester. The course is PLA 212 Elder Law and it will be the online version of the Elder Law course I have taught off-line in the past. The course will be structured similar to my other online courses (4 online exams, bulletin board activity, etc.). However, because this is a Paralegal Program elective course, the student will also learn practical applications such as how to prepare proper Power of Attorney Forms, Guardianship Forms, etc.

Here is the course description:

CATALOG DESCRIPTION: PLA 212 – Elder Law (3 credit hours)

An introduction to the field of Elder Law. Areas of concentration include Introduction to Elder Law, Health Care and the Elderly, Employment, Housing, Guardianships, Elder Abuse, and Assistance for the Elderly. This course is designed to give the student both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of Elder Law. Consequently, the assessment of the student will be based on 50% practical application and 50% theoretical knowledge.

I will post course materials to this page in the future.

Thanks.

Patrick Deane
